NGC 925 is a late stage irregular spiral (
SBcd ) with extensive star formation in the outer arms. Studies
suggest morphology is due to mergers occurring many million
years in the past. NGC 925 is surrounded by galatic dust which
obscures the outer halo and causes an extinction of
approximately 0.3 magnitudes. This particular area of dust is
'hot' in the infra-red.
